Membership

Who can become a member of SDA and how ?

The SDA is open to every institutional and individual member with an interest in Europe’s social dimension (International, European and national Trade Unions, Non-governmental Organisations, research institutes etc).

Organisations who have no legal personality (like trade unions in certain countries) must delegate their legal representatives to become members.

Individuals who wish to support SDA’s philosophy can become associate members.

To do this, a written request must be sent to the President of the SDA together with a resolution of the relevant organ of the candidate expressing the decision to become a member.

What are the benefits of being a member of SDA ?

If you are member of the SDA, we can help you with:

  • setting up projects financed by budget-lines of the European Commission other than 04030303 (for which our assistance is free to all social partners through the ‘Infopoint’ project);

  • project management and promotion

  • advisory services on European Works Councils and workforce representatives in European Companies (SE’s)

  • support in publicising and disseminating the results of your social dialogue activities

  • setting up partnerships and projects in countries outside the EU in order to highlight the international dimension of European social dialogue experiences.

  • coordinating your translation, interpretation and editing services

  • the organisation of seminars and congresses - providing a wide range of contacts at various levels

  • the organisation of joint services
